July 5th, 2016 – Noh Workshop, 4th of July, and Karaoke

It’s already July. I’ll be going back to America at the end of this month. I can’t even say “going home,” because this place has also become a home to me. While I miss my family and friends in America, I am in no rush to go back. I always knew my time here was limited, but I’m starting to feel it more and more. Every moment I’m not doing something feels like a moment wasted. With that in mind, I’ve been keeping myself busy.

June 22nd, 2016 – Hama Rikyu and Origami Kaikan

In my last post I forgot to mention that I went to Waku Waku Dome (a local swimming pool) with some friends. Then today I visited Hama Rikyu Gardens and Origami Kaikan. Unfortunately though, there isn’t much to say about my adventures today.

On a totally random note, my mom sent me a package of Twizzlers not to long ago, so I thought it would be interesting to have several of the Japanese students try them. Let’s just say that none of them were all to thrilled by the Twizzlers, haha.

June 21st, 2016 – Ueno Zoo and Rainy Season

On Saturday, I went to the Ueno Zoo, which is the biggest zoo in Japan. They had all sorts of exhibits and the entrance fee was pretty cheap. Unfortunately though it was a little crowded so I wasn’t able to take too many pictures, but I did get some.

Not surprisingly, the zoo was pretty crowded, especially because it was a Saturday. Im always afraid of going to places that are crowded like this because, with me being as short as I am, it’s usually impossible to see anything. However, I was happy that I was able to see most, if not all, of the animals.

June 16th, 2016 – Kiyosumi Teien and More Baseball

On Tuesday I decided to visit Kiyosumi Teien, which is an extremely beautiful and peaceful garden. Unfortunately though, I brought my camera but forgot my memory card in my laptop back home so I had to resort to using my phone for pictures. Then, yesterday I went to the baseball game between two of the baseball clubs in Rikkyo to watch my friends play.

June 14th, 2016 – Panic Attack

I would say that today I experienced my first panic attack, but actually I don’t think this is the first time I’ve experienced a panic attack. I think this was just the first time I’ve realized that what I was experiencing was a panic attack. Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as some of the panic attacks I’ve heard about other people having, but it was still an incredibly unpleasant experience.

June 6th, 2016 – Fireworks and Yunessun

This weekend wasn’t nearly as busy as I had intended it to be, but it still turned out to be quite enjoyable. On Friday, several people from my dorm went down to the river and lit off Sparklers and other small fireworks. Then several of the freshman ended up in the river thanks to the upperclassmen. Apparently it’s become somewhat of a tradition. Then, on Saturday, I went to this onsen resort place called Yunessun in Hakone. They had all sorts of different types of onsen, from wine to flower fragrances. Yesterday I was supposed to go to Kamakura with a friend, but because I wasn’t feeling well, we decided to just stay home. Instead we decided to relax and binge watch an entire Japanese drama called “Good Luck.”
